Making a Claim
It goes without saying that we and ACE aim to deal with claims as quickly as possible, recognising that you need the benefit from the policy promptly in order to pay the locum practitioner.
Ultimately, any insurance is judged by the claims paid and since the scheme has been underwritten by ACE, over £2.5m has been paid to members – leaving them able to focus on their recovery without any undue concern about locum costs.
The claim process is designed to be easy;
- Request a claim form from us on 0844 477 4860, or download one here

- Complete the form, which includes a statement from your own GP and/or consultant, and return it to us
- Once the claim has been admitted by ACE, you (or your Practice Manager if you prefer) will be asked to send in regular invoices/receipts from your locum confirming the expenses incurred, regular medical certificates confirming your continued absence from work, and evidence of any PCT reimbursement received.
- Your benefit will be payable on a monthly basis throughout the course of the claim.
